Points of interest

Here is a little collection of interesting spots to see.

In Sairee's south end you'll find the before mentioned (page 5) Rama V Rock, right in front of the Fishery Museum.

Another great area is Two View, one of the highest peaks of Tao, best take a taxi towards Tanote View resort, get off just before and follow the trail; (you can easily return by walking downhill towards Sairee, until you reach the main road). There are several view points around, about half way up is the very popular 'Love Koh Tao' restaurant, with a nicely decorated garden inviting to photo-ops.

Check out Chalok Baan Kao's east end with stunning viewpoints in every direction. From Last Paradise or High Bar you see all of Chalok Baan Kao bay, from Taatoh Seaview Restaurant it's Thian Og and from John-Suwan Rock you can overlook both bays together.

Hiking from Sairee village towards Mango, Hin Wong or Mao bay, gives plenty to explore, but be mindful of private housings and over-protective dogs. (carry a walking stick!)

All in all, it's absolutely breathtaking, the sights, as well as the steep walking.

Like some more? Go to west Chalok, cross the concrete bridge leading to Saan Jao beach, pass the Viewpoint restaurant with the best angle of the Buddha Rock, proceed uphill and follow a shady path over to a friendly, quiet bay: June Juea.

Another choice is  to start in Mae Haad and follow the road to Sensi resort until Charm Churee then follow  the signed path leading to Sai Nuan, it's an easy hike along the coast, rewarded with a beautiful, quiet beach.

If you are really serious on exploring the island on foot, search on Facebook for 'Hiking On Koh Tao', where you can find more infos and even like-minded locals to join you.

Don't forget: Always, bring a buddy, plenty of water, sun block, mozzie spray & a cap and NEVER leave your garbage & cigarette butts behind! Enjoy!!
